Danielle Marshall joined Ami McConnell Literary Agency as a book coach, consultant, and editor in 2026. She brings with her 30 years of experience in publishing and bookselling, with varied roles across the book business including Literary Agent, Editorial Director for Lake Union Publishing, marketing and publicity roles at Workman and Simon & Schuster, as well as frontlist book buyer for the largest independent bookstore on the west coast, Powell’s Books.

As an avid reader, agent, and editor, she is known for strong advocacy of authors and for creating bestsellers. Danielle has experience in women’s fiction, literary fiction, book club fiction, horror, contemporary romance, historical fiction, mystery and suspense, as well as memoir and self-help nonfiction. She considers the conception and development of a book a fun, collaborative experience, utilizing advice informed by her experience, and placing the author’s vision for their story and career above all else.

Danielle is not currently representing clients for AMLA, but can be hired as a book coach, publishing consultant or developmental editor, via the STUDIO by WriterFest request form.
